I never voted for a tax increase since I was elected in 1992 because I believe that Government should live within its means just as families must.

New Taxes Not Needed 

 The "Wilder Commision of Efficiency & Effectiveness" found Virginia could save at least $750 million a year without cutting services (in 2002).  Based on the current budget, the savings would be over $1 Billion a year. Former Governor Wilder and the COO of Capital One headed the year-long Commission. Their recommendations have been largely ignored by the last two Governors.
